Every year, the government of Pakistan gives free laptops to students studying at educational institutions in Pakistan. The laptops are provided to enhance their digital skills so that they integrate the digital world into the field of education. In this article, we will discuss the eligibility criteria and goals of the Laptop Scheme 2024.

Goals of the PM Laptop Program

The PM Laptop Scheme 2024 aims to enhance the quality of education in ICT, science, and technology. It seeks to maximize collaborations between educational institutions and businesses, aiding in the creation of smart campuses for better networking and improved learning environments. The scheme also focuses on increasing productivity and value addition in the manufacturing sector by ensuring IT resources are fully utilized for educational benefits. Computers are seen as key to future progress, helping to digitize universities and colleges and enabling the educational sector to fully leverage IT.

Students who are not eligible

The following students are not eligible for a laptop because of this.

  • He is enrolled in a private-sector university.
  • Students who have been accepted into any government program, postgraduate schools, connected colleges, and any federal or provincial government plan and who currently possess a laptop.
  • Foreign nationals, in addition to Azad Jammu and Kashmir students.
  • If a student has not applied online or the online portal has not received his application, he is unable to take part in PM laptops.
  • At the time of distribution, eligibility for the laptop prize will also be determined if the pupil neglects to turn in the necessary paperwork and documentation of their academic progress.
  • Any chosen student who completed their degree program prior to the laptops being distributed.

Students Who Are Not Eligible
1. Enrolled in private-sector university.
2. Already possessing a laptop from government programs.
3. Foreign nationals, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir students.
4. Failure to apply online or submit necessary documentation.
5. Completed degree program prior to laptop distribution.


The students meeting the eligibility criteria will receive laptops from PM Laptop 2024. Those who passed their annual exams for their last degree had a 3.00 CGPA and 70% marks in the recent exams. Every year, 100,000 laptops will be given to bright kids under this program based on the above-mentioned standards.
